Join this trip to experience racing a tall ship in full sail and the uniqueness of life at sea. Along the way, get a taste of Norway’s bustling capital, its southernmost city of Kristiansand and the coastal town of Arendal.
This stage takes you from Oslo, Norway’s bustling capital, along the coast to Kristiansand on the southern tip of Norway, with a stopover in Arendal along the way.
Arrive a day early to explore Oslo, the “city between blue and green” (the fjord and mountainous forest), the European Green Capital 2019 with a booming green economy and reputation as Scandinavia’s musical hotspot.
After departure, you can settle into the unique rhythm of life at sea with your co-sailor colleagues, before getting the unforgettable experience of tall ships in full sail competing in a short regatta.
We sail onward to the coastal town of Arendal, a famous harbour during the age of Tall Ships. You can still see signs of its heyday in the late nineteenth century when Arendal was home to many wealthy shipowners. Today the town hosts Arendalsuka, Norway’s “democracy festival” and largest political gathering.
The final leg of the voyage takes us to Norway’s southernmost city of Kristiansand, with its charming old town of small wooden houses, popular wildlife and amusement parks and surrounding archipelago dotted with idyllic islets and sheltered coves.
